Man of Steel

I've seen actually bad superhero movies.

I have seen Man of Steel and Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad.

I have seen FanFourStick.

Yeah.

Even Marvel at its lowest is rarely, and hasn't been for quite some time, this low.

How does Man of Steel, how much does it need to make to turn things around? I would say it needs to match or improve upon the Batman, which was just under 800 million worldwide, and be in line with Gunn's successful films, the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, which got him this new gig.

which means I think it really, at the end of the day, needs to have an eight in front of it worldwide, which might be tough as there isn't a single big name actor in the movie.

I know a lot of you like to say that movie stars aren't a thing, but I do think they make a little bit of a difference.

I don't know.

Every time I watch Man of Steel or Batman Superman, I'm like, this guy, he's the perfect Superman.

I

don't know how to explain it.

Well, you know, if you're the kind of person who prefers Henry Cavill as Superman, you might really like laying on the guilt heavy.

Who's to say? Which one's Henry Cavill?

The one that always scowls? Man of Steel.

Oh, yeah, right.

I've seen actually bad superhero movies.

I have seen Man of Steel and Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad.

I have seen FanFourStick.

Yeah.

Because that is 15%, 1.5, 15% on Rotten Tomatoes.

So you need to tell me, Man of Steel, is that higher or lower than 15%? You've got nine to beat

to top the leaderboard.

That's very, very tricky because it wasn't well received.

Now, this next one, if you don't get this right, Tim, you will now definitely, this will be the shining sort of failure, if you like.

Paddington.

Is Paddington higher or lower than Man of Steel 57? It's got to be higher.

Paddington.

Yeah, so my second to last one, this one I can kind of probably keep short.

We've talked about this movie ad nauseum on the podcast, but I actually went with the dream sequence from Man of Steel.

And it's the part where you have Superman who is brought on board General Zod's ship.

Oh, right.

It's such a cool nightmare sequence.

And this one really stuck in my head.

And I love that movie, Man of Steel.

I've rewatched it so many times.

And I don't care what anybody thinks.

I still think Man of Steel is way better.

Yeah.

Of course.

But it feels like it just...

Okay, to put it another way, it reminds me of something like Man of Steel, right? Which had...

Zod and Superman fighting.

And Metropolis is fucking falling.
