True Detective

And then being sort of almost reassessed as like, no, those guys should still be in big projects, movies, TV shows, etc.

But yeah, they have been cast as the lead in True Detective Season 5.

It will be the same showrunner, Issa Lopez, from True Detective Night Country, which was the Jodie Foster season.

I think that was the last one.

I've only ever watched one season of it.

I was also seeing some people online doing a real True Detective, the most recent season, like Redemption Tour.

A lot of people saying that that was the best one.

Night Country? A lot of hype about it.

Yeah, Night Country.

Night Country is great.

Night Country, we've just turned this into a True Detective podcast.

But the same showrunner, is it Issa Lopez, who was the showrunner of Night Country? Yes.

Is coming back for the new season, which is very exciting.

He's absolutely right.

Nicolas Cage will be teaming up with Antonio Banderas for a new season of True Detective.

No other details on plotline or release date, but True Detective Night Country showrunner Issa Lopez will write and direct a new season.

Are you excited?

Kind of, yeah.

And he was discussing his film, The Last Winter.

And in my opinion, The Last Winter is a better and actually happened previous to version of True Detective Night Country.

Like, that movie is what they were trying to do with the shit.

I can say a lot of negative things about True Detective Night Country, but it had a good premise, it had a good setting, but a failed execution, and I'll leave it at that.

And for those who have not heard Larry's interview with us yet, he actually said he enjoyed watching it, and in a certain way...

He did, yeah.

Season four was this last one.

Night Country up in Alaska.

Oh, okay.

I thought that they've

Okay, this is five.

Okay, yeah.

Night Country was the second best season.

Yeah, I know.

Few character details are known, but Banderas will star as Rai Garcia, while Cage will play the role of Henry Logan.

This season will take place in Jamaica Bay And the new season hails from showrunner Isa Lopez Who did the last season Night Country So there you go man And I gotta tell you I love this pairing I love it a lot I think this is a great great pairing Nicolas Cage Antonio Banderas Beautiful right here I love it Cat's Eye's new documentary, Wild Hearts, is now streaming over on Hulu.

So check that out if you missed it.

Let's see here, what else we got? In a Violent Nature Part 2 is officially coming to theaters on February 12th.

With that down, let's move on to this, shall we? You know, True Detective came out and took the world by storm.

And while I don't think anything they've done at True Detective since season one has equaled the greatness of season one, I've liked all the seasons of True Detective.

I particularly liked Night Country, the last season that we got.

Well, now we have some news that has come out.

This came out late last week.

Too late for us to talk about last week, but we'll talk about it now.

Nicolas Cage, who hinted at this previously, and the great Antonio Banderas are going to star in True Detective Season 5, and it's going to be showrun by the same showrunner from Night Country, which won some Emmys, by the way.

Here's the basic idea.
