Today on Trust the Tape, Jeff Cavanaugh and Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram break down what we learned from the Cowboys' win over Washington — and what it means going forward.Did we see…
Jeff CavanaughHostIf Jaden Daniels does not get hurt on that last play and they score on that play, which they probably would have if they just handed the ball off and disaster did not strike, are we talking about a different result?

Um, you would have, you would have, I mean, it would have been a tight game for sure.

We wouldn't have had a, we certainly wouldn't have had a relaxed end to the game.

I realized that I assumed the Cowboys had won when they called their second trick play.

Uh, and then I caught myself like six minutes later, I was sitting there with Jesse Holly and I was like, jesse i think i checked out for a couple of minutes like this thing is already over and he's like it is and i was just like i don't i don't know man and then they did kind of comfortably win the game but yeah it would have been it sure sure would have been different um but i just like to put my my like it goes like either it goes over there or it goes over there and depending on like in my mind the loss comes over there but i think if i look at the screen that might be backwards for the audience but I just like to put it in the wind column where it goes and be grateful because at the end of the day, Steven Jones, you for a second, it is possible.

I don't know how they overturned that, but I I'm grateful and I appreciate it because I do think what matters is I work.

And a lot of times things will just get turned into, are they going to win the Super Bowl? The standard is the standard.

And the way that my brain works with sports is what's going to matter is 15 weeks from now, did you win enough games to get in and how good are you then? So like right now, yeah, I could see a way that you could have lost that game, but I'm just going to be happy that it goes in the column that it goes in and the let's see what you do this week and the next week and the next week.

Can we have rounded into something that's got a chance to win a game and play an extra game when the season's over? You're right.

The standard is be competitive and hope to God we're good when it's time to play in the playoffs.
