The interesting thing about the game today is that this was the first time where the loss or the, you know, the losing position came as a result of like one of these worldly type goals.
You can blame Augusto for maybe not closing down strong enough.
Hopefully no one's insane enough to blame Provadel.
But like that was just a world class goal and there's really not much you can do about it.
Whereas in past games, we've gotten into these early holes.
There aren't too many instances I'm pointing to like world-class moments.
It has been pure defending breakdowns.
They pulled a rabbit out of their hat.
It's good for them.
The really, like...
The coming back, the continually, like, finding these ways back into matches, I think that begs the bigger question here of, like, we've tried to play this, like, sterile, like, more defensive sound, defensively sound football because we were leaking so many goals.
Like, we keep this a bit more of a compressed shape.
We aren't going full throttle.
And as a result, we can't really score.
And I don't know how much to read into that.
Like, are we not...
Like, did we fall behind today because we weren't attacking as much as we have in previous games? Was it simply a matter of we didn't have our foot on the accelerator and as a result, we weren't scoring goals? Or was there just Fiorentina scored a fluke goal and we were probably going to score at some point anyway? I don't know how to interpret that, but like it is puzzling to me that like this is the best stretch we've looked all season defensively.
And as a result, it just feels like we've lost a little bit in the attack over that same stretch.
Well, it feels like we lost a lot of it if we're being honest, right? Because, I mean, we were averaging three goals a game.
One goal there.
And then, you know, one open play goal today.
And then, obviously, the penalty played on.
