Inter came from a goal down to beat Bologna 3-1 at the Dall’Ara. Pobega gave the hosts an early lead, Thuram levelled just before half time, and Carlos Augusto and Bonny, both off the bench, turned…
Let me just get the, get the low-hanging fruit out of the way.
We did not play well in this game.
The, like, I don't care about the XG stats, I don't care about the m- momentum stats that's, they flash during the game.
Our first 45 minutes were so poor, and we were quite fortunate to be level one-one going into halftime, because the amount of, like, big chances we were conceding w- was alarming.
And it's just, this is, like, the trend of the season, like, still.
Like, how many times can you fall behind in matches and mount a comeback? We, we did ourselves a favor and we limited it to a one-goal deficit this go around.
We didn't go ahead and make it a, you know, two or three-goal one.
But [sighs] it's just more of the same, and you, you can pick, like, why this keeps happening to us.
We've, we spent so much time talking about this.
It, it'd be very easy for me to single out Luis Enrique as the reason why we went behind in this match, when you consider he missed a prime chance to volley home a shot on the corner, and then immediately proceeded to lose the ball to Miranda in the midfield that led to Bologna's one goal of the match.
But I, I don't wanna harp on that.
I just wanna say that's like, it...
Each week we keep looking for reasons of why this is happening, and y- you can't just keep picking on individual players at some points.
Like, we just have to accept this is who we are, and just largely not good enough.
But, you know, we, we overall have a good record in the league, so I won't complain too much.
I, I wanna start actually by highlighting the contributions of Carlos Augusto, because he is...
Y- you know, Jay was trying to talk about this last week before I shut him down, but there's no denying that Marco has not been, you know, S- Serie A MVP level good this season.
He's not breaking any assist records this season.
And it, it's hard to deny that Carlos Augusto has had the better start to the season when you think about his overall game.
He's been very physical and sure defensively.
He's had a couple nice, you know, right s- right spot, right time goals.
He also scored that absolute screamer earlier this season, and this guy's been awesome.
And you, you have to feel for, you have to feel for Augusto, because he just feels like he's always getting the short end of the stick.
You know, he comes...
