Jessica Coody and Jeremiah Sirles break down the win over Maryland, including learning opportunities from a slower start, adjustments made in the second half, Anthony Collandrea and the offense…
Jessica CoodyHost
Didn't start off pretty, but, uh, locked it down in the second half defensively.
Yeah, you know, macro level, as I took away, Jess, is two years ago we'd lose this game.
And I think, for me, when you look at it from a bigger per- bigger picture perspective of what we, this team has been through under the Matt Rhule era, the losses that we've had where we've come out flat, the other team has come out and punched us square in the face, and we have never been able to recover, and we end up losing those football games.
We, there weren't, our quarterback wasn't on his best game, but we found a way to battle.
Coming off a big road trip, a big win, right? Coming out maybe a little flat, and a learning experience for this team.
But overall, very happy with the way that this team responded, and I hope that we learn from that, that we cannot come out flat regardless of who the opponent is.

They called it running into the kicker, but they hold them to a field goal multiple times that Maryland had some momentum going, and the defense holds to field goals.

That, that's a, kind of a, something that they preach and a mindset that they wanna instill, and it seems like this team's really embracing it, that, uh, you talk about two years ago, and even last year, Cirles, about, you know, if a defense, if the defense would've given up a big play, that would've been a touchdown, you know?

So I think just the mindset switch of that and, and understanding that, hey, just because we give up a 50-yard explosive doesn't mean we can't hold them to three.
Yeah, and Matt Rhule's preached on it all year, we gotta play 60 minutes, right? It's a 60-minute game.
