Greg had made his way back to the airfield with a trail of blood behind him.

There were armed men.

Uh, Charles had managed eventually to wrestle Greg and get him back into his cage, but, um, oh, at the cost of getting bitten in the process, uh, and, and nearly poisoned.

Um, there was gunfire, there was escalation.

And while all this was going on, Bart and Julien decided that they just needed to do something with this half-deranged device that was about to go off, and started trying to get it back to the airfield in the hope that Charles would be able to stop it from, well, destroying a large portion of Brazil.

Uh, and they, they, they, [laughs] they didn't have a lot of luck with finding a vehicle or a, a beast of burden or anything to get it back.

So I- almost reenacting that classic scene from the Batman movie from the 1960s, they were just running through the streets of Santos with this bomb.

But-

Nary a seaplane for us to use

Da, na, na, na, na.

Yeah, they, they made it back, and, uh, uh, tried to, uh, deescalate the situation with the gunmen at the airfield who were very, very keen on killing Greg.

Uh, the, uh, J- Jane refused to get out of the way, putting herself between the gunman and Greg.

And, uh, Julien had, uh, tried to deescalate the situation by being weird.

Uh, this perhaps seemed to be working.

Certainly the men weren't actively trying to kill you anymore.

Uh, so at least in this very moment, the main existential problem facing you all is the one that, that Charles is dealing with, where he is working on this half-deranged device and trying, trying to stop it from going off.

And, and so Charles had unfortunately failed in his attempt to stop the half-deranged device going off because this did require a Cthulhu Mythos roll, or at least combined mechanical repair Cthulhu Mythos roll, and Charles had rolled a 73 over 33.

So let's pick up there, as Charles is looking at the, the face of imminent doom as the mechanism from the half-deranged device is moving faster and faster, making frightening sounds.

There are little sparks of flame bursting from within it as it is beginning to create its gateway off to some alien star.
