And I thought-- I, I just really started struggling to trust the Lord, and I asked the Lord, I said, uh, "Can you lead me to something in the scripture that speaks to about this?" And I think the Lord actually speaks directly to this in Matthew chapter 6 when he talks about anxiety and not being anxious.
And I think a lot of us view that chapter as him just saying not to be anxious.
He's just talking about anxiety.
And maybe for those of you who don't deal with necessarily anxiety, um, then it doesn't feel applicable.
But anxiety or anxiousness or whatever you wanna call it in the Greek often spoke of just a burden overall.
It wasn't just talking about like, you know, anxiety disorders.
It was talking about any kind of burden, any kind of worry overall, which is why, first of all, whatever you're anxious about and worrying about, drop a comment.
Let me know.
Like confess it.
Get it out.
There's a lot of power in that.
Like don't just sit in it and ruminate it in your head and run over and over and over.
Like get it out and say, "Man," like, "this is what I'm really struggling with.
I'm really struggling with my future, with college, with, uh, you know, school right now, with who I'm gonna marry one day, and that God's gonna provide for me with a job," or whatever it may be.
Like all of those are valid, and all the things I didn't list are valid.
He says, "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on," which is clothes.
"Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air.
They neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not of more value than they?" The first thing Jesus tells us to do is to not be anxious about your life overall.
He starts off saying not to be anxious about your life.
Now, that's pretty general, and when Jesus is saying that, he-- the three ways he summarizes your life is what you will eat, what you will drink, and the clothes you will wear, which is kind of the basic necessities of life.
That's the point of what he's saying there.
Don't be anxious about the basic necessities of life.
