Episode #97 - THE CONJURING // "BATHSHEBA IS SELLING FEET PICS?!"

We're back for Anthony's second birthday wheel spin on episode 96 and the second fateful pick from the first decade of Anthony's horror fandom is James Wan's 2013 supernatural horror. The Conjuring. Trying our hardest not to call out the Warrens as charlatans, every other sentence Anthony talks about how he believes The Conjuring informed the tones and pace of supernatural horrors to come, while Nellie explains why she finds the film to be souless and shallow. Despite our distaste for the real life Warrens, we do admit that the characters from the film are very likable and the film does an excellent job at endearing us to the ensemble; it sets an excellent tone of tension and payoff and most excitingly, the lore lands well compared to other similar films.
