Send us Fan Mail Hello and welcome back to the Holistic Hatha Yoga podcast! This week on the pod, I jump into a brief history lesson on religions…
Anyway, so this week on the podcast, I wanted to talk about religion.
I know this is like one of those things that we're not supposed to talk about.
And so let's just go there.
I want to go there.
So I love religion, which is kind of funny because I grew up as a adolescent, like hating religion, pretty hardcore.
Um, pretty adamantly like against it.
Um, I would go to church, I guess, with friends if like their parents made us and things and I would go with my family.
if we had to for a holiday, but like, and I was never rude, but I usually happily participated for the most part as far as like singing hymns or doing whatever.
Um, but I didn't take it too seriously and I didn't, um, I wasn't super into it.
I was just kind of turned away from my own hurts.
So, um, Yeah, that's a story for a different day, I suppose.
He, yeah, he fought in the World War Two.
And when he came back, he became a pastor.
So I don't know, I feel like there's a huge, huge story in that story alone.
After seeing some of the most horrific things and bearing witness and participating in some of the most horrific things to then come back and dedicate your life to spirituality.
is really amazing.
Um, so I, yeah, at a young age kind of turned away from my Lutheran roots and Christianity as a whole.
And I was like in the search of something different, something that tasted a little better in my mouth.
Um, and so I eventually found that with Buddhism and then that led into studying Hinduism and that led into studying, um, Judaism and Islam and it's really been a really beautiful journey honestly like learning about all these different religions and their practices and I just it's so crazy to me how similar they all are like all of their stories are very similar a lot of the lessons and the values are very similar and the fact that we are sitting in 2026 right now currently you know having how many wars across the world in the name of power religion it's quite wild you know and when it really when to me what it all boils down to is fear and love you know we have these two energies these two polarities and most things can just pretty much everything in existence can boil down to is it coming from fear or is it coming from love and that's really what all these prophets were talking about And so let's just dive in with like the oldest up to like present day, because that's really what I've been diving into lately.
