Can I just say that sometimes Paul the apostle who wrote Galatians is in a good mood, sometimes he's in a bad mood.

Why? Because the church that he'd planted in Galatia had been saved and set free, but they had gone back to their old traditions, their old superstitions, their old culture, and now they were demanding that every new believer in Christ should be circumcised according to the old law.

And I'm just going to tell you what he said to them, even though it's not appropriate for a Sunday morning church.

He said, if you're going to go and demand people be circumcised, I hope you go and castrate yourself.
Emasculate yourself.

Before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed.

So the law was our guardian, our guide, until Christ came, that we might be justified by faith.

Now that this faith has come, you are no longer under a guardian or the law.
