Rod Blanchard called his daughter on her 18th birthday. Dee Dee Blanchard took the phone and said, “She thinks she’s 14.” When Gypsy Rose was arrested in 2015, she told police she was 19 — she was 23…
Siobhan, way back in January '24, we were having this conversation about Dee Dee Blanchard right after, uh, Gypsy's, uh, release.
And, and we walked through Munchausen by proxy, what it is, how Dee Dee used it.
Since then, because the world is the way it is, something unexpected has happened.
A growing number of people online, uh, led by some very specific people, have, have basically created some sort of society here where they believe that Gypsy, uh, Gypsy Rose really didn't, uh, w- was the one that was using Dee Dee the whole time.
It seems to have notes, [sniffs] tasting notes, if you will, of, uh, of, of a little bit of Clancy-ism in here where reality might be a little bit too icky, so we're gonna invent some other reality over here-
There's a lot of questions that I have, and we're gonna start our conversation today talking about that, about the folks that believe, uh, that Gypsy Rose was the one who used, uh, Dee Dee, her mother, the whole time, and Dee Dee is just the innocent victim here.

He watched her stand up, uh, on her own from a wheelchair and said she'd been in, uh, he'd been, or she'd been in it for years.
For the people in our audience who've heard the claim that none of this happened, uh, walk us through what a clinician sees when every test comes back a negative and the mother keeps insisting that her child is dying, like Dee Dee did to doctors for more than a decade.
