Um, around 1990, Dee Dee, then in her 20s, begins a relationship with Rod Blanchard, who is 17 at the time.

I think either he lied about his age or she lied about her age.

"Gypsy Rose Blanchard speaks out again after Ken Urker's death." Um, she opened up again.

She thanked her fans for supporting her.

[laughs] The remarks came after she claimed Urker died of an overdose.

Very young.

Blanchard claimed he died due to an overdose of a substance.

Um, however, the reason for his death is still unknown.

Blanchard was born on July 27th, 1991 in Raceland, Louisiana.

Her parents were Claudine, who went by Dee Dee Blanchard, and Rod Blanchard.

Now Dee Dee was only 24 when she was dating Rod, and Rod was 17, so they end up getting pregnant, like, few months in.

So they end up getting married when Rod is only 18, and he ends up divorcing, uh, Gypsy's mom not long after because he's like, "I'm not here for the right reasons.

She was a young woman who took what she wanted and who made you pay for it if she didn't get it.

Then around 1990, Dee Dee met a teenager named Rod Blanchard.

Rod was 17 and still in high school.

Dee Dee was 23, though she told him she was 21.

The age of consent in Louisiana is 17, so this was legal, and nobody around them seems to have treated it as a scandal at the time.

They dated for something like four to six months, and in that stretch, Dee Dee got pregnant.

But even though it was completely legal, Rod was still just a kid.

He's talked about this a lot in the years since, and he admits that he didn't know what he was doing.

Then they took a taxi to his motel.

Before they left, they emptied her mother's safe, about $4,000, most of it Rod Blanchard's child support, and they thought they'd gotten away with it.

Gypsy took a video in that motel room, and in it the two of them are giggling and making jokes.

They mailed the knife from a Springfield post office to Nick's address in Big Bend, Wisconsin, which means that four days before anybody on Earth knew Dee Dee Blanchard was dead, the weapon that killed her was already in the mail addressed to the man who used it.

Kristy tried to correct the record and gave up.

She quit every group and asked her friends and family to stop accepting the avalanche of friend requests.

Meanwhile, down in Louisiana, Rod Blanchard had gotten a phone call from Dee Dee's sister telling him his ex-wife was dead and his daughter was missing.

Then Kristy found a video on Facebook.

And she said Gypsy's dad was a deadbeat, an alcoholic and a drug abuser who mocked his own daughter's disabilities, who called the Special Olympics a freak show, and who'd never sent them a dime, not even after they lost everything in Katrina.

The truth was, Rod Blanchard was sending twelve hundred dollars a month every month into a bank account in New Orleans.

He was sending the extra things Dee Dee asked him for on top of it, like TVs and a Nintendo Wii.

And he kept sending all of it after Gypsy turned eighteen because Dee Dee told him his daughter still needed full-time care.

Dee Dee told the officers that this was deliberate.

She was hiding from an abusive husband, and they bought it.

Nobody called Rod Blanchard.

Nobody checked any of it against anything.

Well, it's about to get even worse because there's this other phone call that Gypsy Rose had with her friend Brian where she's talking about how her dad had allegedly sexually assaulted a 14-year-old.

So in this call, um, Gypsy Rose is talking to her friend Brian and says that her stepmom Kristy had just shared some very disturbing allegations about Gypsy's dad, Rod Blanchard.

According to Gypsy, Kristy said that this allegedly happened early in their marriage.

Kristy reportedly suspected that Rod was cheating on her, went through his phone, found messages between Rod and another woman where he allegedly described an incident involving a friend's 14-year-old daughter.

Now, apparently, what also stood out in the phone call was that when Gypsy was telling her friend Brian this story, she was apparently laughing about this.

Now, these are allegations, obviously.

I have not heard the phone call myself, and the allegations against Rod are not Haven't been, like, independently verified, but, like, what the actual fuck? I thought this was a good guy, right? Like, you know, we saw what a crazy mom Gypsy Rose had, and then we thought, okay, like, her dad was really, really young when he had her, and, like, the mom was kinda lying to him about what was going on with Gypsy Rose.
