Hard Faith Podcast | Karen Covell: 25 Years of Prayer, Perseverance, and Bringing Hope to Hollywood What if the greatest way to change Hollywood isn't through criticism, boycotts, or better movies…
I'm so glad that God placed this ministry on your heart and that you have been praying for Christians in Hollywood for these 25 years.
Obviously, Hollywood usually has a pretty bad rep, especially amongst the Christians.
Bible Belt or people that don't like what Hollywood produces or afraid of Hollywood.
And I can say firsthand, I remember when I first converted to Christianity, there was a lady at my Bible school that drove me wild and someone told me to pray for her.
And I can, you know, I've prayed for my enemies before and prayed for people I don't like.
And it is amazing how the Lord miraculously makes, you know, brings you two closer together.
Why is it that, you know, it's interesting to your ministry has been around for 25 years.
You pray for people in Hollywood working in the entertainment industry, like you said, has such an influence on culture.
But, you know, sadly, I would say that of all the ministries I'm aware of, church ministries, parachurch ministries, I don't know any ministry that is so focused on prayer.
And I pray more with you than I sometimes pray with anyone I've ever prayed with in my life besides my wife.
And I've had some beautiful times of prayer with you and prayer walks for the Oscars.
What was it in your life that made you realize that prayer was so powerful and so important? And why do we as Christians neglect this communication and power tool so often?
