34: BJ Cockrell

The first one is Kristen Foxen.

She shipped the 25K high roller in event number 19. that's for her sixth bracelet and i think that even before she she shipped this event i don't even know how much of a debate it was about being the best uh female poker player of all time um and even that like even that title feels like inappropriate for someone like her because she just like flat out one of the best players in the world at this point i think right So for her to for her to do that was like a really big feather in her cap.

And then the second story that I think we just have to mention is Adrian Mateos.

Mateos won the two hundred fifty thousand dollar super high roller for four over four million.

And he won his sixth WSOP bracelet.

And this came on the heels of shipping.

It was the big Triton Invitational, the $200K buy-in for, I believe, like $6 million.

So in the span of a couple of months, Mateus just like leapfrogged over a bunch of players to where he's now in the top 10 of all-time cashers.

I just wanted to kind of note both of those accomplishments because like They're just both so impressive.

So that was really enjoyable to watch kind of on the front end of the series.

I don't know if you all have any responses to that, if you caught either of those stories or if there were any other kind of earlier in the summer WSOP stories that jumped out.

I do want to just speak briefly about it.

Like Kristen Foxen, six bracelets.

The next number of bracelets for a female poker player is four.

Susie Isaacs, Barbara Enright, Nani Dolson.

And

most of those played maybe 10, 15 years ago.

I think even I think Nani Dolson used to play in our region a little bit.

I think she might have retired to the this area.

I may be wrong, but I think she did.

And then the next one with four bracelets is how do you say it? Okamoto, Sheena Okamoto.

who I believe, Ben, correct me if I'm wrong, is she went back-to-back in the ladies event.

Not this year, but last year.

It's insane.

I think I want to say she like final tabled the year before or something.
