Welcome to You Can Bet On That, a podcast for the recreational gambler.

I'm Mark Duval.

And I'm Dr. Mike.

Dr. Mike, not much to talk about really this episode.

Haven't been gambling that much.

I'm still up for poker, just barely.

Uh-

Just barely, gosh

... yeah.

And, and that includes all po- well, not video poker obviously, [laughs] but, uh-

Yeah

... you know, all real poker.

I count tournaments, and I count, you know, when I play the mixed game at the casino, and I count our home game.

Tournaments, I've only played, like, three tournaments, but, you know, you spend a lot of money on those, and-

Right

...

I didn't cash in any of them, so that's a lot of it.

And then I am down for the year at casino poker.

Yeah.

Boil it up.

Especially last couple, uh, weeks had some bad beats.

So still up for the home game.

That's keeping me in the black [laughs] for now.

[laughs] So you're making your money off of your friends-

Yeah

... and anyone you're not as friendly with, that's who's taking your money.

They're taking my money, right.

I'm just taking it from my friends, so that's-

Yeah

...

the way poker should be.

Yeah, right.

[laughs]

[laughs] And then, uh, like I said earlier in the year, I was really burned out on sports betting, so I haven't been betting any sports over the summer, but it's football season.

It's football season.

We gotta make a few bets.

So, uh, Dr. Mike, I turn it over to you for football.

Uh, your football bets are getting off to a little bit of a rough start here.

Yes.

[laughs]

God, these, these two NFL games-

Yeah

... did the Rams even try?

Oh, boy, that was rough.

Oh, man.

The Rams are a team that a lot of the so-called experts are saying, you know, Super Bowl-bound Rams.

Uh, I was like, "Uh, not from what I saw last night."

Yeah, you know, it's one game, but yeah.

I know.

It- that was a bit of a shock.

And then, and then Seattle, I wanted so-

They just didn't cover.

You had-

Yeah

...

it was, like, three and a half, right? And you took them-

Right

... and yeah.

So anyway, uh-

All right, so we need-

...

I'm to a little bit of a rough start

... yeah, we need to turn around our poker, and we need to turn around our football betting.

We'll see.
