Last season, we explored how colonialism, empire, and slavery are inextricably, are inextricably linked to the British monarchy.
In the 10 episodes coming to all good podcast networks, and of course, YouTube over this season, we'll discuss how taxing the 1%, billionaires, gender, and environmentalism are indelibly republican issues.
We're seriously excited about our guest today, a high-profile activist for gender equality who knows a thing or two about changing the law.
But first, a lot happened over the break with the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the release of books by Virginia Giuffre and Andrew Lawrie, and increasingly questions from the British public asking how much Charles knew about Andrew's exploits and his ties to billionaire sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein in the years before the public became aware of both the corruption and Andrew's alleged crimes.
At Republic, of course, our question is always, is one man to blame? Is this about the Windsors? Or is exploitation of power a function of monarchy itself? We have lots more to talk about, including the release of nonfiction books, Andrew Lawrie's entitled The Rise and Fall of the House of York, and Virginia Giuffre's posthumous memoir, Nobody's Girl.
