I guess I'm s- curious about like what you were feeling in that moment, and obviously like what actually happened to you.

Gina MartinGUEST
Um, and I'm gonna try and tell you about it not in the way that I usually talk about it, because I know that there's like room for nuance here in, in this dis- this discussion, and usually I, I kinda say the same thing every time, 'cause I've probably told the story like 2,000 times [laughs] at this point.

Gina MartinGUEST
Um, I remember being really excited to be with my sister again, 'cause I'd been abroad, and it was like the reunion moment.

In 2017, I was at a festival with my sister and a group of men at the festival were... chatting to me and Stevie and then eventually they became overly sexual and were making advances on me and my sister and I rejected those advances and then a few moments later they took upskirt photos of me without my knowledge and I saw the photo because they sent it to all of their friends around me in the crowd And I was super humiliated and upset and I snatched the phone and, you know, raised awareness to it and managed to run away to the security with the phone, the picture and one of the guys following me.

Gina MartinGUEST
And when I got to security, they called the police and the police basically said, oh, it's not a sexual offence.

Gina MartinGUEST
And I spent 18 months after that point fighting to bring in the law and brought in the Voyeurism Act in England and Wales.

So what was your kinda journey like in that? What was your experience of trying to get in the door, get people to listen? Um, I mean, was it an open door for a lot of people, or was it really hard work to get anybody's-

Gina MartinGUEST
It's, it's, it's very unique how hard it is for different people and why to make changes, I feel like.

Gina MartinGUEST
Uh, you know, my experience of changing the law and the law reform is gonna be so different to someone else's experience.
