Yeah, no, I think it's important to really take a step back and look at the big picture, right? Of course, anytime you lose, it's disappointing.

This team won 91 games, tied for the fourth most in franchise history in a single season.

On top of that, we saw Fernando Tatis Jr. and Jackson Merrill get back to looking like their best selves for an extended stretch for the first time in over a year in both their cases.

The Padres look like they might have one of the best catching duos in the majors for years to come now.

Mason Miller delivered an all-time year, one of the greatest relief seasons ever.

I actually feel better about the Padres' outlook at the end of this season than I did at the end of last season.

So as much as the post-season loss was disappointing and the way they went out was disappointing in the sense of you feel like they could have won a lot of these games, I think this was a good year overall.

This was a good team that came together and delivered an incredible extended run.

A lot of players did a lot of good things that make you feel good about the future.

I think as much as, yeah, of course it's disappointing when you lose, I actually come out of this feeling really good about where the Padres are, just taking a step back and looking at the big picture.
