Well, what I will say is this is the most important thing that anyone could spend their time on.

If you consider yourself an animal advocate or you care about the food system, There is probably nothing you could be working on that is more important in this moment than stopping Save Our Bacon.

not only represents one of the biggest threat that I think the animal protection movement in the United States has ever faced in the U.S., it also sets a very, very dangerous precedent.

Basically, if this passes, what we're doing is we're signaling to all these terrible industries that abuse animals and abuse workers and destroys the environment and destroys our food system that all you got to do is go to Congress.

You got to make some political donations and then you can get a preemption law passed yourself and nullify the laws that hold you accountable in different states.

And for your non-US folks, our agricultural policies here in the United States have a huge impact on the agricultural policies in other countries as a part of our trade agreements.

A lot of other states, like the European Union, the UK, have passed laws that ban the extreme confinement of farm animals and do things to raise the welfare of animals.

In fact, in the EU right now, the EU is really on the trajectory to finally ban and end the cage age for nearly all farm animals really, really soon.

Now, what happens with the imports from the United States? It puts your governments in a very bad position where you have Higher welfare food that is coming from your country.

And then you have subpar, very low welfare food that's going to try to be imported.

So there's a lot of reasons to oppose this, whether you're an American or if you are living somewhere else.

So the question is, what can people do? If you live in the United States, you have two US senators.

You need to call them and you need to make it clear that you are opposed to the Save Our Bacon Act.
