Welcome to Fame-Ready! This week, Katrina Owens sits down with Annie Mosbacher, Chief Growth Officer at Dubsado, for a conversation about what it really takes to grow a personal brand-based business…
Annie MosbacherGuestKatrina OwensHostYeah, and this is so interesting because it reminds me of this larger shift we're seeing even in, like, influencer culture.
Like, the shift away from someone who's just like, "Hey, this is the product that I got.
This is why I love it." Like, that isn't working the way that it used to, and it's because we can tell.
I mean, hey, I'm the, you know, I give myself, like, 15 minutes of TikTok time every night-
... where I just get to, like, scroll TikTok, and there are obviously lots of ads that are meant to look organic talking about a product or whatever, but you can still tell.

Fastest way to, like, y- you know, watch your brand partnerships, like, start to dwindle because the brands unfortunately just won't see the results that they want.

That is one of the reasons why this is a little bit different, but I do not engage in professional paid UGC content because I'm like-

... you are not an actual user of Dubsado, in which that's a very different thing.

... you know, we get cold pitched by, you know, people that do this for a living and, and th- which is amazing.

You know, you've got that, you've got that great resume, but if you haven't used the product, I don't want you talking about how great the pro- Like, no, no, no, no.

And so I think you're right that this is we're moving in a different direction, where, like, people can see past when it isn't integrated, when it's not authentic, and that goes from digital into in-person and events.
