that's an interesting story so i really didn't start like i didn't grow up hunting honestly i only started what 2026 five years ago,

five years ago,

I grew up like fishing.

I grew up in Washington, near Seattle, and my dad would always take me my brother out to these lakes in the foothills of Mount Rainier with backpack in and that's really where I just fell in love with nature.

And then I grew up on five acres of thick forest.

So we'd always be playing in the woods as kids digging traps and trying to be bushcraft survival guys is as he do doing airsoft wars and whatnot.

And then, oddly enough, my dad loves cooking.

And so he really got into watching all these cooking shows.

And then he started watching Meat Eater.

And he would actually almost fast-forward the hunt to get to the cook.

That's all he wanted to do was see what was getting cooked, which was really funny.

And I got to watch some of the hunting shows.

I was like, oh, that looks really cool.

And some of my buddies went duck hunting.

So I'd go duck hunting every now and then in high school.

And I always wanted to do it, but my dad didn't do it.

I didn't have family that did it.

And Washington State's regulations are – not good they're really confusing um but when i was i think 15 or 16 uh i had i did have buy a deer tag because we saw buck blacktail buck off our back porch and smacked him off the back porch but that's not really a hunt that's more of a harvest so that was my first kill and then I moved to Montana to go to college actually to become a ski bum I was a ski instructor throughout all of high school and loved skiing and that's like all I wanted to do and I was like hey there's Bridger Bowl so there I was in Bozeman's Bridger Bowl Big Sky and a couple other ski resorts I'm like I'm just gonna go ski and do nothing else and then I kind of fell into a hunting friend group and went on a couple hunts with them watching them and I'm like oh this is pretty sweet and I was like, I have a hunting rifle.

I have a scope.

I was like, okay, I can put this together and make it work.

And then I went and bought some camo off Facebook Marketplace.

It was some Sitka and a Sitka backpack that reeked of cigarettes and had holes from getting burned.

It was like cheap.

And I was like, oh, it's going to camouflage me, even though, I don't know, now I know it's like, I could have been in jeans for that hunt.

And I found a piece of public land.
