But before we jump into that, it's worthwhile stepping back for a moment and saying, was it worth eight or nine weeks of talking about who God is? We're a church that values discipleship.

Maybe you consider discipleship or you conceptualize it as getting people from point A to point B in their Christian walk, which is really important.

But then surely... we could have done something more practical, more topical, more relevant, right? We all have sins that we're trying to get rid of that has its claws in us.

We want to be stronger in a million different ways, right? Would it have been better, more practical, more valuable, perhaps, to focus on some of those things, right, and to walk those out? Partially depends on your theology of formation and how we grow in this Christian life.

What's your strategy for that? What's your strategy for your Christian formation and growth? I'll ask you that question.

I would hope, and you could list a whole bunch of good things, spiritual disciplines, that's fantastic, really important.

I would hope that this scripture shapes your understanding of how we are transformed as Christians.

2 Corinthians 3.18, and we all with unveiled face beholding the glory of the Lord.

Beholding the glory of the Lord or being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.

Paul writes to us and he says that as we see God for who he is, we will be transformed.

Not as we see him, not as we meditate on the caricature that we make of him in our minds, right? We talk about often in our church that the heart is an idol making machine.
