Revelation 21

How did they leave the path of truth? Watch this, "claiming that the resurrection of the dead has already occurred.

In this way, they have turned some people away from the faith." So you say, "Well, what has this got to do with Satan's little season?" Well, I'm glad you asked, because this term, guys, this phrase, they derive this directly from Revelation chapter 20.

Now, I'll read this in just a moment, but I'm gonna tell you that this, this whole doctrine is just a repackaged version of preterism.

Now, what is preterism? Preterism comes from the Latin word praeter, uh, praeter or praeter meaning past.

Now, now you see why I pulled up Second Timothy chapter two, verses 16 through 18.

There was men, Paul named two of these individuals that were going around in the early church and they were preaching this nonsense.

Preterism is a view that holds many or all biblical prophecies, again, about the end times, including, listen to this, the Book of Revelation, the Great Tribulation, and even the Olivet Discourse, they claim were all fulfilled in the first century AD, culminating in the destruction of Jerusalem and the Second Temple by the Romans in 70 AD.

This is what they believe.

And heaven reminds us death does not get to define forever.

That's why Revelations 21 and 4 points us towards the day when God will wipe away every tear and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying.

Notice God doesn't merely promise to help us cope with death forever.

He promises death itself has an expiration date.

When we look at Scripture, for example, there's a scriptural case where hospitality is not in a single verse to be cherry-picked.

It's a thread, actually, that runs from Genesis to Revelation.

In the Old Testament law, the command appears again and again in almost mantra.

You shall love the stranger.

And to what end and to what purpose we have to ask ourselves if the church were to do that.

Hospitality is not only ecclesiological, I dare say it's eschatological.

The final table in Revelation 21 has no gate, has no entryway.

There's no visa queue.

A prophet for the time of waiting.

Read Revelation chapter 1 verses 1 to 3.

What was John called to do? Revelation 1 beginning at verse 1.

The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants, things which must shortly take place.

and he sent and signified it by his angel to his servant John, who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ to all things that he saw.

Yes, Jesus said he would return.

But when? While he was exiled on the island of Patmos, John wrote about the promise of Jesus' second coming.

And we read it first in Revelation 1 verse 7.
