EPWS | 13. Coleta & Daniel

Welcome back to Wedding Story Wednesday! This week on Emily Post Wedding Stories, you're invited to the wedding of Coleta and Daniel, which took place on July 6, 2024, in Crathorne Hall, Yarm, England. Coleta, who is Romanian, and Daniel, who is English, had a beautiful country-estate wedding, hosting about 90 of their closest friends and family in Yarm, England. The couple had a very thoughtful process for their guest list and invitations, which were in both Romanian and British styles. The ceremony involved both of their families, with many members doing readings in both Romanian and English. Their vows followed the classic Church of England style. In a break from tradition, the bride wore blue for her ball gown wedding dress. At the reception, guests enjoyed a three-course meal, with extra “mash” and extra “roasties” on hand just in case anyone needed a little more to eat. Champagne, wine, Pimms cocktails, and a non-alcoholic Elderflower Fizz were available for guests to enjoy throughout the reception. Keep an ear out for their funny cake-cutting faux pas! Their formal wedding reception ended up with a casual twist with that day's England-Switzerland football match playing on TV. The match spurred everyone onto the dance floor in celebration after England won! Coleta and Daniel were one of the couples I interviewed for research for our upcoming book *Emily Post’s Wedding Etiquette*, out in February of 2027.
