David's Longing ｜ NEAR ｜ Part 2 with Miles Paludan

And I wanted to open up just with an honoring moment where Bonnie and I are just blown away at you all and what God's doing.

And honor is something that God really takes seriously.

In Romans 12.10 says, The Bible says to honor one another above yourselves.

So we believe in honoring.

Bonnie and I could not do this without you.

It's your prayers.

It's your giving.

It's your serving.

We want to honor all the volunteers.

We want to honor your faithful attendance.

We want to honor you.

But there's something else that people often miss when it comes to honoring.

It's great that we honor you, and we should.

And we want this to be a place where you're honored, you're believed in, you're built up.

But there's another powerful side to honoring that we often forget in the kingdom of God.

John 12, 26 says, my father, oh, it's a big deal.

It's God in heaven will honor who? The one who serves me.

So you're actually serving the Lord at the local church, not being Bonnie, you're serving the Lord.

The father in heaven honors you because of your faithful serving.

And can we honor those around us who serve in the church, honor you for being here today? It's more than just valuing people.

That's important.

Honour is giving people the value that God says about you.

You're valued.

You matter.

You're important.
