What it Takes to Build Something That Doesn't Exist With Eric Pinzon

Uh, I had about a million bucks in my account.

We had like 18 doors in terms of rental properties.

Okay.

Um, they were bringing in like 50,000 a year.

And so, and then it's like, Hey, we can almost afford for you to quit your job.

Do we want to get five more rental properties or do we want to maybe get a roommate or we can, that's what it was.

This is before COVID.

It was like, we'll rent out a room in our house.

Okay.

And like, we have a decent three bedroom house.

We gave up the master and we go to this tiny room.

That's this big to make the sacrifice for me to be able to quit my job.

Yeah.

And so we had one person come in, uh, Airbnb and it letting a stranger into our house.

Yeah.

Uh, and, uh, it went great.

And then COVID happened and we're like, what the hell are we going to do? Found a longterm roommate.

She was amazing.

She was there for five years, but she was paying, you know, thousand bucks a month.

Yeah.

And our mortgage was 13.

So it allowed for me to not work as much and make as much money.

So, um, and so, uh, let's see, left Tesla, didn't know what I was going to do.

I tried buying land and leasing it to solar companies a while ago before it was cool.

At one point, me and a business partner, we pooled our money together.
