A grounded episode covering why critiquing injured players’ movement is pointless, a look at Joly‑type dart throws and Bears WR sentiment, how to handle “avoid or advantage” profiles, and whether…
redraft league I am a full-on degenerate I am fully immersed in football right now so you know we're doing it live we're doing it like this this is how we're doing it but let's go let's let's have at it man let's do this all right you know what's funny I do want to say this because like every time I've had Tommy on I feel like I'm like interviewing him and I don't want that to be what this show is because let's face it Tommy's not really like a traditional guest at this point he's more of like a friend it's like having another jake on the pod kind of deal you know what i mean so so we're going to do this a little different than it typically is with tommy or at least i'm going to try to just do like a normal show here so we are going to hop into some news and nonsense i got a quick psa you can throw your thoughts out there after tommy or not we can just move forward with it whatever you think or want I've been, you know, a lot of injuries this off season was seeing some videos of Alec Pierce running around and I was seeing some people criticize, you know, the way he was moving and running.
And I was just thinking back to Malik neighbors a couple of weeks ago or maybe a month ago or so where he was not looking great running around the bases of, you know, like a charity baseball event or whatever it was.
And people were freaking out and all of a sudden we're here now and he looks pretty good, you know, and it was kind of freaking out about nothing.
So I, I kind of just want to say like, let's like, chill out with critiquing player movement when recovering from an injury I'm sure there's specific circumstances where critiquing that movement or looking at that movement would be helpful but I think for the most part when coming back from injury these guys are going to look hampered have you ever twisted an ankle or even just like tweaked your back you're not right for a while and you're still going to be kind of you know not moving right and adjusting and trying to get back to normal and you know feeling it out so just want to throw it out there because I see it I see a lot of people I think, reacting to it.
Yeah, it's almost an unfair comparison, isn't it, Billy, where Malik Neighbors is coming back from injury.
In the non-point scoring season, though, it's not, is it? And so we attribute unfair expectations on Malik neighbors or Alec Pierce.
And so I think it's a really good point that like, yeah, if you have a human body and you've ever had an injury, like think about how you came back from that, how you were starting to just like build back the basics of whatever fundamentally that muscle group or that bone or that tendon was trying to accomplish before and how you had to compensate for that.
yeah yeah these people let's give them a little bit of grace absolutely you nailed it great feedback there i love it the comments are coming in fast here we have laughing lizards sup suckas what is going on my man uh tony in here emma stone crying gif i love it i love it joe pop back in tommy here like having family over it absolutely is Ricky, what amazing people we have here.
