Revisiting Preseason Guardians' Hot Takes

Uh, yeah, so speaking of looking darn good, that's our Guardians, looking darn good at the moment.

Of course, you know, obviously it helps to play-

Mm-hmm

...

the Giants, the Rockies, the Angels.

And, uh, it'll be a little, little bit more of a test here with the Royals, who've been playing very well coming to town.

But, you know, it's okay to clean up on the easy part of your schedule, and obviously getting a sweep is hard no matter who you're playing, so two sweeps in a row is definitely something to be happy about.

I think, too, that the offenses are obviously been looking a lot better for a little bit of time now.

I mean, it helps that Quan's gone scorched earth on [laughs] everyone.

[laughs]

Just absolutely destroying everybody.

But the offense has looked a lot better, even surrounding Jose trying to get his hand strength back.

Um, so I th- for a while there it was like, oh dang, the offense has their bad game at the same time that our pitcher has a great game.

[laughs] And then the offense has a good game at the same time our pitcher has a bad game.

And then we had some bullpen troubles for a while.

But it seems like, you know, knock on wood, that Smith, Zabowski, Gaddis, and, um, Heron even, and Holderman finally healthy again, have righted the ship mostly.

And, uh, that makes a big difference.

I, I said, I've said for a while, they're not going anywhere if Zabowski doesn't figure it out, and Zabowski seems to have figured it out recently.

Yeah.

No, it was real nice to see him look as close to what we were seeing the beginning of the season.

Um, yeah.

When, when he had [laughs] he had those weeks of facing Ohtani.

Down goes Ohtani.

[laughs]

And like, three pitches.
