Jonathan DrapkinHostSo JD, how much do you know about what's going on with these fifth-year players in college basketball?

Ever since there was, I guess, the NCAA gave a ruling or that you have five years of eligibility now, and that's about all I know.
So where this really got messy, because as far as I'm concerned it's still a mess, they're hoping to somewhat resolve some of this.
There is a court decision that's supposed to come down in the next week or two.
But what opened up this can of worms, if you will, was the Wisniewski versus NCAA case, and basically it argued that with this new five o- five-for-five model...
Also, to clarify for folks, just a quick side note, we have no more red shirts with this five-for-five model.
So I talked a little bit in the past about, like, Maxim Meyer being a red shirt.
You don't need it anymore.
You get five years to play five.
No matter what.
No matter what.
So Wisniewski, who I've never heard of, Brock Wisniewski is a player for Northern Colorado.
He was actually decent last year.
Well, not him literally, but his attorneys brought this case to the NCAA, and they said, "Well, this isn't fair.
How come this class of 2022 isn't allowed to participate in the five-for-five?" And that led to the Colorado court, uh, making the, I guess, distinction that players in 2022 class are eligible, and since then there's been some states where players have been deemed eligible with temporary restraining orders, other states where they have not been able to get eligibility, and the NCAA is also fighting this themselves.
And so that's what we're hoping to see resolved in the next couple of weeks here, is that one of these court cases we should see a...
We, I shouldn't say should.
We might see a resolution as to what's going on, because the number of players who are up in limbo right now is astonishing, and I think, because you don't know, I think the best case is gonna be an ACC-related program, and that's LSU.
