Your, your frontline team i- is so close to the guest that not taking their advice, not listening to them, that's just hubris run amok, right? And that, and I think that makes, that makes a lot of sense to do that.

So as we, as we continue to talk about practicality, what are the practical first steps that a hotel GM can take, like, not next year, [laughs] not next quarter, but, like, right now? What, what can somebody be doing right in this moment? 'Cause I always love these practical tips for folks about, what, what can I start doing right away that doesn't mean I gotta go ask for investment, and I gotta go have a strategic plan? Like, what are some of the things folks could do right now?

I go to hotels and, or I worked for hotels, um, when I was a front desk agent or in other departments, and, um, you know, I would see the manager.

It's like, you know, so it's really important to get out behind your desk.

And I remember my father was, was saying, you know, when you lead people, um, you, you lead from the front, right? So you, you manage by walking around.

So, you know, spend time with the guests or actually with the employees 'cause that's your frontline.

Um, to me, your, your employees, your frontline is your bottom line, so why wouldn't you spend time with them? You...

They're gonna be your eyes, your ears, ears, and mouth on the, on the floor.

So spend time with your employees, and then more importantly, spend time with guests.

Um, and then ask the team, you know, "What's, what's getting in your way?" You know, what's getting in their way? And then obviously you wanna review guest feedback for patterns and, and pick one or two friction points, you know, and fix them.

So another one is to recognize, uh, you know, recognize your team, you know, members publicly, you know, like, in, in public.
