Nolan Weiss - Finding Flow - S2 EP11

So before we before we get into knowing Nolan a little bit better, I do want to touch on a few current events.

So so a few really major things have gone down since that.

I last recorded at the beginning of August.

And the first event that I wanted to talk about was the Dodge City Cycles and Riding Fool Fire that happened on August 16th, 2026.

Nolan, were you in town for that event?

I wasn't.

I was away at the Toby Creek Canadian Enduro race with my boss and a couple other guys from Specialized.

And I woke up the morning after the race and my dad had texted me.

He's like, hey, have a safe travel day home.

And he's like, oh, also DCC burned down last night.

And I was shocked.

I called him right away.

I wanted to know the details because...

I've been going to Dodge City Cycles for probably the last almost 10 years, and I'm only 17.

It feels like such a big part of town that we kind of lost there a bit.

Yeah.

Cause, cause no, so Nolan was telling me before we started recording, he grew up here in Cumberland.

Um, so born, born and raised.

And, and like, do you have any like really core memories of going into Dodge, like maybe a first bike or, or even just going in there at a certain time, getting to know the guys? Is there something that stands out for you about that place?

Something that always stands out to me is there was, uh, like a afterschool biking program that we did with the school in Cumberland.

And there was this thing that they would do where before you could go up for the first ride, you had to go and get your bike, like checked with Dodge city cycles to make sure it was, it was safe and like operating well and stuff.

And you weren't going to strand the whole group with, with a broken bike out there.

And there was, I think that was the first time I went into Dodge city.

It was probably like grade two or three or something for the afterschool bike club.

yeah so so you're yeah grade two you're like how old seven yeah yeah and turning eight the bike shop probably felt big yeah also probably like amazing because you're surrounded by all of these beautiful bikes for sure all of these legendary sort of bikers from around town so yeah
