Are you married, but spiritually single?

You can sleep in the same bed, raise the same children, attend the same church, and still be moving in two completely different spiritual directions. In this episode of the **Covenant Army Marriage Podcast**, Brent and Lucy unpack what it means to become **spiritually aligned as husband and wife** and why spiritual unity is critical to building a strong, biblical marriage. Spiritual alignment does not mean you pray the same, think the same, or have identical spiritual gifts. It means you are surrendered to the **same Lord, governed by the same biblical truth, and committed to the same Kingdom mission.** Discover the warning signs of **spiritual misalignment in marriage**, how busyness, unresolved hurt, spiritual passivity, secret sin, and competing priorities can create division, and practical ways to rebuild **spiritual intimacy, prayer, unity, communication, and purpose**. Brent and Lucy also address one of the hardest situations in Christian marriage: **What do you do when one spouse wants to grow spiritually and the other doesn’t?** Plus, they give couples a practical **Spiritual Alignment Meeting** to help identify areas of drift and begin moving back toward Christ and each other. **Jesus should not simply be included in your marriage. He should be the Commander of your marriage.** When a husband and wife stand shoulder to shoulder under the authority of Jesus Christ, hell does not see two isolated believers. **It sees a Covenant Army.** **Chapters** 00:00 Introduction to the importance of spiritual alignment 02:10 Celebrating birthdays and cultural differences in celebration 04:07 Recap of the Leadership Table event and Mark Whitaker's story 06:47 Upcoming Power of Marriage Conference in Orlando 08:59 Understanding what spiritual alignment means in marriage 13:07 The biblical foundation for unity and alignment 15:49 Differences in connecting with God and their strengths 19:50 The importance of humility and shared spiritual leadership 24:02 Practical steps to build and maintain spiritual alignment 30:03 Signs of spiritual misalignment in marriage 39:53 Overcoming passivity, secret sin, and lack of shared mission 50:12 The power of prayer, repentance, and seeking counsel 59:57 Creating a shared spiritual rhythm and mission 01:05:05 Encouragement to take action and seek God’s guidance **The Power Of Marriage Conference - Covenant Strong** **September 18-19, 2026** https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-power-of-marriage-marriage-conference-tickets-1998902840204
