B FosterHostCoachHostYou know, that's the longest in a game I've watched in like two weeks is that.
You know, kind of leading up to it, it kind of was like, God, you just hope he doesn't get embarrassed.
But obviously, I don't think he – he probably weighed that with like, screw it, I don't care.
Whatever happens, happens.
I just want to get out there one more time while he can.
And boy, did he turn the clock back a bit with – that outing um i thought maybe he was gonna go you know a little bit more i was at one point he's already at 93 what the hell there's no pitch count left he's going into the sunset so what's 110 but uh they couldn't get any runs for him unfortunately uh while he was in the picture of record to get a win in his last start uh so he'll settle for no decision but Man, he had six strikeouts in, what, five, six innings.
Not a great strike-to-ball ratio, considering the fact he pitched in one game, regular season game, all year, and was able to maintain that type of command.
And we'll say it, Laz Diaz gave him a friendly punch out late after all the challenges were used.
And Laz was also in his final game working behind a home plate as he heads into retirement, too.
One of the few umpires that took the – buyout back in july that were offered um i think almost two full crews worth of umpires did take the buyout um so you can hear him on the mic too on tv you know max clark was in the box had a pitch challenge against him by the catcher and last side the mic on he goes all right max here we go get in there max let's go I think you just tell you just two, two guys that just were having fun back there.
And that's what it was all about Sunday for JV.
And then obviously when his kids came out, I mean, it started getting a little emotional pregame, you know, people were giving him a standing ovation the entire time out in the bullpen warmup session, all the way to the dugout before he came out in the mound.
Of course he was by himself out there to have the moment.
But yeah, Yeah, it definitely stirred up emotions from 20 years ago.
And him and Max probably retiring too, although he said he'd wait and see.
It's the last of that generation of pitchers.
And unfortunately, we see now guys getting hurt so early and so often compared to these two guys, which, and I'll digress here to get your two cents in here.
But on the heels of it, they released a podcast show that JV was a guest on with Mookie Betts, and he talked about dialing his speed back after year two or three to give him the longevity that he's had today, not to mention Cy Young after Tommy John post 30 years old is incredible in its own self.
So, yeah, it was great, man.
It's just kind of weird because it was kind of like a transition of our generation to now the next teenage group generation, and it's – You know, and a lot to look forward to in the next handful of years, whenever the next season may be.

Yeah, I'm glad because rolling up to it, we didn't know really what to expect because it's been so long since he's actually pitched in a meaningful regular season game.
