American Idol’s Vegas Showgirl: Amanda Avila

But I don't know if people know, you've actually been doing this for a very long time.

I mean, you started at seven.

Yeah,

even younger.

I think my first commercial, I think I was two.

I mean, I don't remember exactly.

But my mom started me young.

She had always wanted to be in show business.

And she saw very early on that I was not shy.

And I would kind of do things that made people happy or for attention.

And she'd just go.

Let her perform.

And I love my mom for that.

Because, yeah, I did.

I just had the bug early.

And then...

in high school.

I was at a regular normal high school for the first two years and I just realized I don't like this.

And

the High School for Performing Arts, LOXA, was having auditions.

And I auditioned and I made it in.

And that's where I met Josh.

And what's crazy is the kids that go to that school, it's still a very prestigious school.

There's been a lot of really amazing talent that's come out of the school.

You have to really, really at a young age decide this is what I'm doing.
