America's Got Talent

And This is not the same guy.

I still see clips from America's Got Talent and I see him on the judge panel and everyone's just waiting to hear what he has to say.

I'm like, that is not Simon Cowell.

His entire face changed.

Everybody want to be up there and be Prince.

Everybody wants to be the performer, be on America's Got Talent.

You are making your money and being very successful being behind the scenes.

How are you doing that?

It's been over 15 years since the premiere of the now hit show America's Got Talent, a competition program centered around finding the top entertainers in the country.

But despite the show's huge popularity, I was surprised that I hadn't heard about its upcoming spin-off, which was set to air fairly soon.

The show is called AGT Extreme, which focuses solely on daredevil acts.

a premise that has subsequently caused a bit of a stir online, as having a competition focused on extreme stunts means that people will take things further and further to win, which would lead to their performances getting riskier and riskier over time, pushing the envelope and heightening the danger.

With this in mind, many critics have called out the show for how dangerous it could become, and as it turns out, even before the first episode has made it to air, these critics may have already been proven right.

On the 15th of October 2021, TMZ would publish an article outlining an incident that had recently happened on the set of the show.

The accident supposedly involved 41-year-old Jonathan Goodwin, a man who had performed on AGT before, where he attempted other life-threatening challenges, all of which had gone off without a hitch, but this time was different.

The article wrote, Jonathan Goodwin, a daredevil stuntman on the new America's Got Talent Extreme, suffered brutal injuries after a stunt he attempted went horribly wrong, and it was so bad, people on set thought he was dead.

Yeah.

And he was also on America's Got Talent.

Yeah.

Maybe right after this, right before it.

This is something I know I can safely say that I know I'm not the only one who was captured by watching magicians do their tricks and stuff.

Lots of people, even still today on those Americans Got Talent shows or America's Got Talent or whatever, those talent shows, there's lots of magicians that continues to wow us into uh, just amaze us with tricks.

But to be honest, one of the, uh, my favorite sort of guilty pleasure, like you're hiding, like you got a tub of ice cream.

You're like, Oh, this is going to be good.

And I had no idea.

I had no idea that's where America's Got Talent is.

I had no idea that's where all the producers for these variety shows were at.

And so in the speaking world, there are places that speakers go for conferences to learn more about speaking, where other agencies can be.

For the, for the Jabbawockeez situation, I remember when he was, um...

He did participate in America's Got Talent on that one.

And then right around there is when he got really ill, and the next step from there was ABDC, and the rest is history.

So.
