Well, I wanna jump right in today and just ask you like, you and I have similar kinds of audiences or clients that we work with, in that a lot of them tend to be self-employed or freelancers.
[chuckles] I, I, um, I think I've always thought that I would have an independent life because my original training is as a professional artist, and you couldn't have gotten me close to an econ class when I was in college.
I was very anti-capitalist and just like anti-business, and like not for me, and I was attracted to the arts.
Um, and it took, you know, about 10 years in the school of hard knocks to be like, "Oh, I do see the reason why those things are important now." I had to be shown them by the difficulties that I faced from life.
So, so basically I-- Yeah, I think that's how I, that's how I got to the place that I got where I was interested in studying accounting, and like, well, how do people do this? [chuckles] Um-
... your story could be like, I was an artist, uh, and I, then I switched to becoming, you know, an a, an accounting tax world period, right? But am I correct that you're, you actually have maintained an art practice? I'm sure it fluctuates, but do you still feel like you hold an artist identity?
I-- Not to truth bomb your listeners too much, but I did lose my studio in Hurricane Helene.
