James ThomsonGuestI'd like to know how much does waterproofing or water resistance matter to you when it comes to choosing your tech? And then I would love to hear what is the sort of riskiest that you are willing to be when it comes to water and tech? Alex, we'll start with you.
I almost think that most of my tech decisions have unfortunately been made for me by the companies when it comes to waterproofing.
That being said, I tend to put my tech in very risky situations when it comes to either getting a camera shot or getting some audio.
And I haven't had too many disaster so far um yeah i guess i am just uh usually very precious with my tech but once the camera or the audio recorder is on like all of that is out the window that's

as it should be i mean you got to get that shot or that audio it's got to be done right you know waterproofing be darned um i don't know why i corrected myself this satanic episode has got to be waterproofing be damned um So, yeah, I think I'm with Alex in the sense that it's not a feature that I specifically seek out, but I appreciate that, you know, companies, including Apple, have continued to make their devices more water resistant.

I think probably the, you know, riskiest I get with a device is like an Apple Watch, right? Because I wear it everywhere.

um you know if i give my kid a bath or something like i'm not taking my apple watch off like it gets in the water it gets in the water uh you know i don't necessarily swim with it

i have i think i've done i've swum with it before although it's been a long time i'm not jumping into the pool with my phone on me but like i do appreciate the security of knowing that if i do it's probably okay james

But also, I don't want to have to test how well it actually works in practice.

I mean, generally, it's only really my phone watch and maybe my AirPods that I would consider it a useful thing for.

So going outside with expensive technology requires a certain amount of base waterproofing by default.

But even if technically these devices are to some degree waterproof, I'm not going around submerging them.
