How to Face a Bad Day at Work

So in week one of the series, we talked about really the theology of faith and work, and how all that kinda works out in God's word.

Uh, we talked about integrating that in your workplace in week two.

Uh, Pastor Chris talked about excellence, such a phenomenal message in week three.

And last week, I talked about, um, working with people.

Today, if you wanna grab your app, um, to take notes and follow along, we're gonna talk today about something I know we've all experienced, and that is how to face a bad day at work.

Anybody ever had a bad day at work? Wave at me.

Okay.

I think that's probably all of us.

Hopefully, most of your days are good days at work, at school, uh, of course with your family, uh, but there are gonna be some, some bad days.

And here's, the thought I had was this to kinda kick us off.

You know, bad days are kinda like earthquakes, so there's, there's a scale.

There's the Richter scale of bad days.

And so I was just thinking about, you know, the, the first part of that scale, the lower end of that scale, are bad days that we're gonna experience a lot.

This is, like, the 1.0 bad day, kind of the, the, "Seriously?" It's a, it's a bad day, and this is when you're stuck behind slow traffic on the way to work.

Maybe you spill coffee on that white shirt.

Maybe you forget your water bottle.

That's, that's like the mortal sin.

[laughs] To forget your water bottle at home and now you're at work.

Or how about this? Somebody microwaves fish in the break room.

Yeah.

[laughs] That person needs to get saved in Jesus' name.

[laughs] All right, then you have your 2.0, and that is, "You've got to be kidding me." This is where, like, somebody keeps replying all to every email.

Yeah.

[laughs] Y'all know that person, all right? Or if you're a student, I know this has happened in our home, you go to school and you realize your Chromebook, your little laptop is only at 2%, and that happens a lot.

Another one that happens in our house is you get to school and you realize you have no lunch money on your account.
