Richard AddingtonHostWhat do we think is important to make sure that people buy the right house? Well, I think that's the wrong question,
And you see, I've got two quotations that I'm going to introduce here that illustrate this.
One is from somebody called Winston Churchill, who said, we shape our dwellings and afterwards our dwellings shape us.
And then there's another quote I found on the subject from Joyce Maynard, who is an American novelist, who said, a good home must be made, not bought.
Buying a house is part of the process, but making a home is a much, much more important part of the process.
And we do sell homes, not houses, don't we really? People buy emotionally, don't
they? We've already taken a different tack on this topic, haven't we? Because I think we've established in a very short space of time that it's not buying a house, it's buying a home.
And that is a really, really important part of what we do, isn't it? We can have a beautiful house, but if it's not presented nicely as a home, it can be very difficult to get people's enthusiasm.
I think it's pivotal to anything that you buy because, and I always say this, you can change anything about a house within reason, obviously, you know, unless it's listed.
