Moving Forward Personally: Walking the Discipleship Pathway | Agassiz & Lake Errock Campuses

I have a question for you this morning.

What keeps you from moving forward in your life personally, relationally? spiritually a big part of that.

We saw this morning evidence of God's work in a person's life and they're moving forward and progressing in faith and in leadership.

But what keeps you from moving forward? So last week we had a baptism or actually about 10 days ago on a Thursday night at Harrison Lake, we had a baptism, which is a major step of moving forward in faith for people who respond to God's call and obedience in doing that.

And I missed an opportunity last week, just a couple of days after baptism to congratulate the two young men, the two teenagers from our church who were baptized.

So I apologize to them by my text message this week.

And I said, we'll get you when you're here next time.

But I think proud grandpa and grandma are here this morning, Mark and Sonia.

So just excited about what God continues to do in our congregation and helping people move forward.

But I couldn't help but laugh when I was in the lake baptizing Carl and He was so excited afterwards.

He jumps out of the water and gives one of these and they even got the picture and put it on social media.

I was very excited for him.

But he, when he was done being baptized, he just made a beeline for the beach because there was a group of people there waiting to embrace him.

and to hug him and to rejoice with him and to pray over him.

And he just left me, not in the dust, he left me in the water.

I literally couldn't move.

I'm like, I decided because I didn't like the rocks on my feet.

I didn't know if I was gonna get hurt or whatever.

I put my flip-flops on and it was the wrong kind of flip-flops.

And I'm trying to follow Carl out of the water and I couldn't keep up because I'm, I'm just the resistance in the water just kept me from moving quickly.

And I'm like, okay, Carl, you're on your own.

See you later.

Sometimes resistance in our lives to certain things keeps us from moving forward.

Right? We, we, sometimes there's nostalgia.

We love the past.
