Jim TurrentHostDo you know, I think it's fair to say that there is something of a loneliness epidemic today.
I read one author who said that never as a society have we been more connected to one another, and yet never have people felt so isolated.
But when she was doing a promo for her film The Devil Wears Prada, she was asked what is it that she fears most in life.
The thing that I'm most worried about is just being alone with nobody to care for or someone who will care for me.
That horrible feeling of isolation is something that I hope I never have to deal with again.
In Charleston, like I said, we've got a lot of social issues, but I wonder if one of the big issues is just loneliness, people just feeling that they are isolated.
And yet that feeling of disconnection that can often be so common in all of us is deeper than just a need to have other people in our lives.
underneath it is this reality that human beings are disconnected from God, that we are isolated from Him.
He sent Jesus to die for your sin, and He did it so that you could be with Him always.
Before, it's like being in the dark, not knowing why you're here or where you're going.
