Tune in to the latest Celtic Down Under podcast On this episode, we discuss the following: \* Celtic 7 Hearts 1 \* Europa League Fixtures \* Our Upcoming Matches Against Celta Vigo & Hibs…
My summary of the Benfica game, and I've got to remember I'm in the first five minutes, so I've got to keep the language nice and PG at the moment.
Absolute rubbish.
There was a bunch of players there that I think just weren't good enough.
The coaching wasn't good enough.
And the people I feel sorry for the most are those who traveled over to do the pilgrimage to Lisbon because of how much of a special place that is to our club.
And they got dished up that football.
As I said on the pod last week, and I also said on Axon last week, for me, I said anything of Benfica, three goals is what I thought the margin would be.
So I was spot on with the thing.
It was four ones.
It was a three-goal margin.
But I feel like they backed off a bit on us in the second half in that game, much like we did the same against Hearts on the weekend, which we'll get into a bit later on.
So going into this weekend's game, yeah, I wasn't feeling too confident.
I wasn't either.
You know, I could assume he's losing the game or even drawing.
But it was pleasing to see, and this is, again, I said this last week, it's nothing personal, but it's good to see that Taneke has finally run out of runway.
Hopefully it's for a while because he's just not good enough for Celtic and he's got no heart and desire and bottle.
so when you swap out Callum Osmond for Tanecki and you see how electric he is in terms of his pace his endeavour making positive forward runs that run that he made for the goal kind of forced Well, the only option for Duran really was to play that diagonal ball because he'd made the run so positively and so quickly.
So it was good to see there.
Obviously, there is the odd mistake with him, but I do think if we stick with the lad, he can have a similar trajectory to the likes of Kieran Tierney.
I hope that comes to fruition.
But you've got to put these guys into real jeopardy to get the ultimate results.
If you put them in for the odd 15 minutes when you're winning 3-0 or whatever, you're not really replicating a real pressure situation.
