She's a 26-year-old from Senegal, was detained on August 7th at Louisville's Muhammad Ali International Airport, which just the fact that it's at Muhammad Ali International Airport that she's detained.

She was with her basketball team traveling to a tournament, but she has an injured ACL, so she wasn't actively playing.

She's been detained for reportedly missing an immigration hearing, and the judge ordered her deported.

But her attorneys filed a writ of habeas corpus, and she was granted a $2,500 bond.

And like one of the facts that I, when I was prepping for this, that made me really sad was that they kept her in solitary for points of time.

And they said that it was because of quote security concerns because she might use her knee brace as a weapon.

So like they literally use the fact that she was disabled and injured in order to punish her even more excessively.

not a violent, like not that it would be okay if she was, but this is not a violent offender.

This is not anybody with any history, you know, that we know of, of like violence.

It's just really upsetting at the idea of international players, like they don't have a choice.

And so the fact that it has to be that the potential here is that they can be held.

And I think in her case it's interesting because they tried to say that, like, they had told her that she needed to show up to court.

One of the reasons she was let out is because her attorneys argued that, like, she never actually received that order.
