And in those days when the Torah, the written Torah, had not been given officially to any nation, to, to Klal Yisrael, the, the main limud of Torah was orally, whereby people, those people who wanted to, would seek out the tzadikim and go to them, to their Beit Midrash, to their house of learning, to learn from them.

Just like we find that when Rivka felt a struggle going on inside of her when she was pregnant, it says, "וַתֵּלֶךְ לִדְרֹשׁ אֶת-ה," she went to seek Hashem.

But unfortunately, during those generations, the majority of the people did not seek out the tzadikim, did not accept their authority.

And, and unfortunately, as a result of that, any of their-- the, the knowledge that they did have, and there was knowledge, became a stumbling block for them.

Instead of it leading them in a positive direction, it became a stumbling block for them.

Whereas those who sought Hashem properly were able to receive clear, proper advice from the tzadikim in those generations.

And then prior to that, it tells us, "וַתִּמָּלֵא הָאָרֶץ חָמָס" that the world was filled with robbery, thievery.

Rab Noson Sal speaks about this and tells us that unfortunately, during the time of Noach, the world hit a, a certain bottom, a terrible bottom of pigam habris, whereby as a result of the fact that the human beings behaved improperly to such an extent, it spilled over even to the animals, the behemoths, the chayot, the domesticated animals, the non-doca- domesticated animals, who were mating with other, other types that weren't part of their, their same category, as the Gemara says.

Because the truth is, everything in the world is guided by man, by human beings.

And according to the degree that we, chas v'shalom, cross a line in doing terrible things, it spills over even to the behemoths and chayot that they also end up, chas v'shalom, doing similar things.

Just like the, the Midrash tells us that when Adam and Chava took from the Etz Hadat, others, the animals and, and chayot also tasted from the Etz Hadat.

And this is what necessitated a, a, a drastic item that in order to be able to build up the world anew, Noach had to build a teva, an ark, and bring all the animals and chayot into this ark, from outside into this teva.
