Volume 2: 1980's 'Friday the 13th'

But before we move on and hit the episode proper, we just got to quickly, quickly touch on the fact that yesterday was Sunday.

It was my day off.

I was doing my thing.

And all of a sudden, my phone starts blowing up.

Why? Because the new Peacock series, Crystal Lake, that comes out almost exactly a month from today, dropped a ton of new promotional material.

We got a new poster featuring Miss Voorhees and Jason.

We got a brand new trailer.

So much to get into with all of that content.

Once again, Crystal Lake is the first live action piece of content we've gotten from this franchise in 17 years, people.

What better occasion to create an avenue and a community for us to come together to discuss everything related to this franchise than right now on the precipice of this release, almost a month out, like I said.

We got all this new material.

We're going to be doing an episode of the pod the week before the release of the first episode of that show on Peacock.

So we're going to get into all that.

We're going to do a deep dive.

I will say after watching the trailer a few different times, the one thing I will comment on now, it looks like we're going to get a lot more Jason Voorhees than I had originally thought.

My understanding of the concept and where they were going seemed to be 99.9% focused on Jason's mother.

Pamela Voorhees.

But it appears not only with Jason appearing on the poster, which could be a bit of a misdirect, also quite literally in some shapes and shots appearing in the trailer while his existence is even teased as a motivating factor for the way his mother moves the world because she thinks Jason is still alive.

not a direction I thought this show would go.

But that's really exciting.

Again, we're gonna get into all the specifics of that, predictions, maybe even do the Camp Superlatives just for the trailer.

That would be an interesting experience.

But that's just really, really great stuff to continue to raise the fervor and energy regarding the show that, again, is kind of the whole reason we started this project now when we did, because we felt like it would be a good opportunity to ride the wave of excitement, for everything related to this franchise.

So please get familiar, get dialed in.

Thank you so much for being here.
