Neil ChanningHostNick LuckHostWill KedjanyiHostStarmer is clinging on like a limpet despite the fact that the entire political commentariat, and those who fancy themselves as the political commentariat, say he was definitely a goner yesterday.
Neil Channing, first of all, how did the market react to that through the day, and where is it settled now as regards Starmer's exit?

Well, if we focus on, uh, the year of exit, because obviously there's markets on the month of exit, whether he goes by June the 1st, whether he stays until the next election.

Uh, but I'll, I'll like to stick with one market so that you can, you know, you can have a good, uh, compare along the way.

Will he go in 2026 was trading, uh, prior to the elections at around about 1.5.

Uh, during the elections it went down to 1.36, and in the post-election it did drift for a second to more or less four to five, 1.8. And at one stage yesterday, and we're recording this on Wednesday morning, uh, it got down to 1.12, so about seven to one on.

Uh, during the afternoon, after he said he was strong and stable and nothing was gonna change and he was gonna get on with government and roll his sleeves up or whatever, whatever the hell he put out as a statement.

This morning it's back at 1.43 to 1.47, so about four to nine, uh, that he goes this year.
