Steve Fisher

I don't get over things.

I used to ask Steve Fisher, are you over Chris Webber? At Michigan, you had the timeout and you told all of them in the game against North Carolina in the final that we don't have any more timeouts.

We don't have any more timeouts.

Don't call a timeout.

So please don't think that I've insulted you.

Don't mope.

Just bow your neck, as Steve Fisher would say, and run down court.

Forget about what just happened.

They'll have a game against UNLV, and they'll also play BYU in Palm Springs in December.

San Diego State needs to do something with those opportunities, but as I said, San Diego State is also going to get two cracks at Gonzaga in Pac-12 play, but this right now is as challenging a sequence of time as Brian Dutcher and San Diego State have had, in my opinion, in a long time since they turned the corner under Steve Fisher.

When you just think about what they have lost, again, six players from the program last year were not able to be retained and will play in power conferences during the 26-27 college basketball season.

We will continue with our non-conference power teams or non-power conference teams to watch during the 26-27 season.

We're talking about Michigan's coach bounced on the Wolverines before the tournament.

And he was replaced by Steve Fisher because Bo Schembechler, the AD, said, I want a Michigan man coaching Michigan.

And Steve Fisher and ran the table and won the championship.

Right.

Like that is the most rarest of situations ever.

You can join any team.

I just am proud of the fact when I jumped on board, I came on board with the Aztecs at the invitation of Coach Steve Fisher and Coach Brian Dutcher.

When I lost my beautiful Lil, they knew I was hurting.

And they thought, this will give something to do.

Let's go back to the story that you were mentioning off air.

Okay, when Dave mentioned about people with a boat or a house or whatever... reminded me about three years ago, three or four, and a gentleman, Perry, 94 years old, living in New York City.

He was an Aztec and lived here, and he watched Steve Fisher and Brian Dutcher take the program out of the ashes and put it into a top 25 program.

And he contacted the ALS Association and said, I want to make a legacy gift.

right so teaching our our kids to do uncomfortable things to do with relationships in terms of making eye can't contact having tough conversations like my you know my son zeke just cut his uh his college list down and so most college coaches i'm sure are used to getting a text saying hey uh i'm not choosing your school and that's the last there's any any any contact When I was a senior, I called each coach that recruited me on the phone the day of my announcement.

I remember calling Tom Izzo and Steve Fisher and Roy Williams, Dean Smith, and saying, hey, I really appreciate you.

I've gotten to know you.

I have tremendous respect for you and your program.
