MNGun Owners Law Center's Rob Doar joins Cam to take on St. Louis Park Mayor Nadia Mohamed's call for banning guns amid a wave of Somali-American gang violence in the Twin Cities area.
Rob DoarGuestMy thanks again to Rob for joining us on the program, and yeah, looking forward to having him back again in the very near future.
Um, it's almost... uh, Mayor Mohammed's comments are almost cartoonishly villainous from a Second Amendment perspective, right? Because again, you just don't hear too many politicians come out and say, "We need to ban guns." I mean, most...
I, I, I have no doubt that many, if not the vast majority, of Democrat politicians believe that, but most of them don't say it, right? Most of them say, "Listen, I support the Second Amendment, but we need some common sense gun safety measures." Even when they're talking about, you know, "Well, we need to ban assault weapons," they, they say, "Well, it doesn't infringe on our Second Amendment rights." Yeah, I mean, yeah, it does.
[laughs] Stop talking about gangs and start talking about banning guns." It, it's not even a let's talk about both.
Talk about banning guns." I, again, I just don't think that's gonna play very well, certainly outside of the Twin Cities, and even in the Twin Cities.
I- I'm... my, my prediction, and I'm guessing that there are some, um, folks who, you know, think of themselves as good liberals, even good progressives even, who are hearing these comments today and are at least muttering to themselves, "I don't think she's right here." But, uh, we'll see on election day, less than a month away.
