So it is September 14th as we're recording this, and like we've been talking about, it's been hot and disgusting all summer.
It was still in the 90s like a week and a half ago, maybe, Fahrenheit.
And today the high is I think 60.
It's cloudy.
It's about to rain.
It's supposed to rain all week.
The hay is baled, so I feel like I can be excited about this.
But there's always that moment, and I don't feel like it happens in the spring.
In the spring you're like, "Yay, warm weather.
Yay, warm weather." And you're like, we're Iowans.
We're wearing shorts when it's still snowing out, right? But there's that first few days of cold weather where you're like, "Why am I uncomfortable? What is this feeling of not rightness?" And then you'll realize that you're barefoot and wearing a tank top and it's 60 degrees out.
And there's that moment of confusion, but also that moment where you go upstairs and you put on your thickest boot socks and then you put on long pants and then you put on a shawl or a sweater or whatever.
Maybe you get wild and you pull on a hat.
And if you're like me and you just really like to bundle up, it's just the best damn feeling in the world.
And so I'm gonna go make some tea, and then I'm gonna go make a big pot of beans and ham, because I also don't really like summer food.
I'm a winter food person.
Hearty.
I don't want light, grilled zucchini things.
That was mostly just a discussing.
Uh, Brittany, what do you have?
